On monday 18 februari it was a beautiful clear morning. I decided to get up early and go and visit one of my favourite places to shoot the sunrise at Noorddijk. The sun slowly came out, changing the landscape colors from the cool blue and dark colours, to the warm orange and yellow glow of the sun. The golden hour, also called magic hour, is a term from photography, which indicates the short period after sunrise or before sunset, in which there is more indirect sunlight, so that the light is more red and softer. Because the sun is on the horizon, the light travels a longer distance through the atmosphere.
This is such an amazing place with the Noordermolen in the background.
